Device-reported maximum touch points:

Coverage describes this browser test area only. Mouse and stylus input do not count as finger touch.

How to test your touch screen

  1. Drag one or more fingers across the whole test area, including the edges and corners.
  2. Watch Coverage and Maximum detected together while you test.
  3. If cells remain uncovered, use Check missed areas and sweep those areas again.
  4. Optionally run the separate hands-off check to observe unexpected touch-contact starts for 15 seconds.

What coverage means

Coverage is the portion of this browser test area where actual finger-touch samples were observed. The tool does not interpolate between samples and does not turn out-of-area captured movement into edge coverage.

Missed areas, dead spots, and dead zones

The first and confirmation passes are stored separately. A cell can be described as not detected in both passes only when neither pass received an in-area touch sample there. Repeatable missed areas may indicate a touch problem, but this browser test cannot identify the failed hardware component.

Ghost touch and unexpected input

The 15-second hands-off check can help you observe unexpected touch-contact starts sometimes described as ghost touch. It does not confirm a ghost-touch fault, and a quiet run cannot rule out intermittent problems or prove that a touchscreen is healthy. Browser Pointer Events are not a hardware certification; mouse and stylus input are intentionally excluded, and fullscreen is optional.
