How to test controller stick drift
- Connect a standard-mapped controller.
- Release both analog sticks and keep them untouched.
- Start the test and leave the sticks alone for the 3-second sample.
- Read the observed center offset for each stick.
What the result means
The test averages the browser-reported horizontal and vertical center position for each stick, then reports the distance of that average from the exact center as a percentage.
The plots zoom into the central 20% radius so small offsets remain visible; the numeric percentage is the measurement. The trail shows recent stick movement as visual context. It is not a second score and the test does not label a controller good or bad because games and controller software use different deadzones and tolerances.
Browser and mapping limitations
This browser test measures only controllers that expose the standard gamepad mapping. Non-standard controllers are not assigned guessed physical axes. If the tab becomes hidden or the selected controller disconnects during the sample, the measurement is cancelled and must be restarted.
